1UP Project Cargo : A Multi-Modal Journey Successfully Navigating

In the intricate world of logistics, project cargo shipments often require a combination of transportation modes to reach their final destinations. Our recent success in transporting two Air/Vacuum Pumps from Crossfield, Alberta, Canada to Jakarta, Indonesia as 1*40’FR OOG, exemplifies the expertise and coordination involved in such multi-modal journeys.

1UP Cargo success in transporting two Air/Vacuum Pumps from Crossfield, Alberta, to Jakarta, Indonesia as 1*40’FR OOG

The Challenge

The Air/Vacuum Pumps : 2 units, L – 143” X B – 82” X H – 107”– Weight: 2,858.50 Kgs each unit with Over Height– 28.85” (732 mm)

L (Length) = 143 inches

B (Breadth/Width) = 82 inches

H (Height) = 107 inches

1*40’ FR ( Flat rack), Out of Gauge : Over Height– 28.85” Inch (732 mm)

1UP Cargo's Solution

Method of Lashing : Each unit secured by total of 6 cord lash (MSL 4250 kgs) for a total of 25,500 Kgs rated load capacity, having 2 of them crossed at each end, 2 of them over all to the structure to the flat rack. All of them were set taut.

Description of Blocking/Bracing : Each end of the unit 2 x 10” lumbers nailed to block and braced to arrest any shifting.

The Journey

The shipment began its journey on a flatbed trailer, traversing the Canadian landscape from Crossfield to our Vancouver warehouse. This initial leg of the trip was crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient transfer of the oversized cargo.

Upon arrival in Vancouver, the Air/Vacuum Pumps were carefully loaded into 1*40’ FR container. As an Out of Gauge (OOG) shipment, special attention was paid to securing the cargo to prevent any movement during transit. Our experienced team utilized advanced lashing techniques and blocking/bracing to ensure the pumps were firmly in place.

From Vancouver, the container embarked on its ocean voyage to Jakarta, Indonesia. The journey across the Pacific Ocean required meticulous planning and coordination to navigate potential challenges and ensure the shipment's timely arrival.
