In logistics, project cargo shipments often present unique challenges due to their size, weight, or specialized requirements. Recently, 1UP Cargo successfully managed the transportation of a massive 11.2-ton transformer, overcoming the complexities of handling and delivering #OOG (Out of Gauge) cargo. This operation involved transloading, load, block & brace (LBB), and securing the cargo onto a 20'FR (OH) container in our Los Angeles warehouse for shipment from Long Beach, California, to Ningbo, China.
1UP Cargo successfully managed the complex transportation of an 11.2-ton transformer from a warehouse southeast of Los Angeles, California, to Ningbo, China. The primary challenge was transporting an oversized (Out of Gauge - OOG) transformer measuring 2410mm x 2415mm x 2400mm without compromising its integrity. 1UP Cargo addressed this with a tailored plan:
Careful Collection: The transformer was collected from a warehouse southeast of Los Angeles using a specialized step-deck chassis designed for heavy and oversized loads.
Transloading and Securing: At the Port of Loading (POL) in Long Beach, California, the transformer was precisely transloaded onto a 20' Flat Rack (OH) container. Advanced LBB techniques ensured secure fastening for stability during transit.
Ocean Freight: The secured flat rack container was shipped via COSCO Shipping Lines to the Port of Destination (POD) in Ningbo, China. 1UP Cargo closely monitored the shipment to ensure smooth passage through customs and regulatory checkpoints.
